Introduction
The Philadelphia Ceili Group’s 41th Annual Irish Traditional Music and Dance Festival once again fostered and promoted traditional Irish arts and culture in Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley. The 2015 festival had something for everyone: a night of Irish song hosted by Teresa Kane with some of the very best local singers of Irish traditional songs including Matt Ward, The Jameson Sisters and John Bryne; a very special Ceili dance with live music by the McGillians & Friends; a Friday night Rambling House hosted by John McGillian that was a rollicking good time. On Saturday, the Festival began at 11:00 a.m. with music and FREE workshops and lectures for current Ceili Group members and students with admission into the Festival on Saturday. Saturday’s all day concert included local the River Drivers, Haley & Dylan Richardson, Marian Makins & Matt Ward, the McDada-Cara School of Irish Dance and the Philadelphia Ceili Band. Saturday night was a very special concert featuring Girsa and Mary Courtney. There was Irish dance demonstrations, music all day Saturday, workshops with internationally known musicians. Great fun was had by all!
