In this workshop Doimnic will discuss the legacy of Fr. Dan Murphy, who collected hundreds of Gaeilge songs from Gaeilge speakers (mostly Donegal, Mayo and Galway) who moved to Philadelphia after the famine until 1935. He will teach a song from Fr. Murphy collection and along with a simpler song, for those not familiar with sean-nós singing. He will discuss the origins of sean-nós singing and other topics that participants might find interesting.
