FOR YOUR LISTENING AND DANCING PLEASURE
THE PEARL RIVER CEILI BAND

Carpenter Lane and Emlem Sts., Phila., Pa.,presents this award winning band on Friday, June 20, at 8:00 p.m. Tickets $15.00
One of Philadelphia's own musicians, Caitlin Finley, will be featured with the band. This band won First Place at the Fleadh Cheoil in New York in April. This qualified them to compete in the Tullamore Cheoil na hEireann in August, 2008.
Because of today's economic situation, the trip is almost unaffordable without assistance. Irish groups in the New York area are sponsoring fund-raisers and to help out, the Philadelphia Irish Center and the Philadelphia Ceili Group are holding this event and invites the Irish community to come out for a night of lively, eciting music to help out these wonderful musicians.

Sat., June 7, 2008; 8:00 PM / $15; children under 12, free
MICHEAL O RAGHALLAIGH (ME'-haul O Riley) is one of the finest concertina players in Ireland. Steeped in the music by his Connemara-born father, he studied concertina with the great Rena Crotty from Kilrush. IVAN GOFF, originally from Dublin, began playing the tin whistle when he was eight, progressing to the more demanding uilleann pipes at eleven. (Workshops will take place at 4:00 PM. Registration required. Fee is $25.)
Philadelphia fiddler Caitlin Finley will open the concert with the mighty music that won her four prizes at the 2008 Mid-Atlantic Fleadh Cheoil in Pearl River, NY. (Caitlin & band - The Pearl River Ceili Band - have qualified to compete at the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Tullamore, Ireland, in August).
Bring your instrument as we expect an open session to take place after the show at nearby Ballydalton. We can caravan over there in no time flat!
